NetWitness Appoints Cybersecurity Industry Veteran to Lead Incident Response Services in EMEA Region

Stefano Maccaglia to Leverage His Combination of Deep Technical Knowledge and Intimate Understanding of Customer Needs to Manage Critical Services Offerings

BEDFORD, MA – November 16, 2021 – NetWitness, an RSA business (@RSAsecurity), a globally trusted partner for some of the world’s largest and most security sensitive organizations, today announced that it has appointed cybersecurity veteran Stefano Maccaglia to manage the company’s incident response (IR) services in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. NetWitness IR services help enterprises identify cyber threats quickly and take quick action to mitigate incidents.

“I’m thrilled to announce Stefano’s appointment to this key role leading IR services for EMEA. He’s been a huge part of NetWitness and RSA for more than eight years, and in that time has demonstrated a unique ability to distill and communicate his deep technical knowledge into understandable and actionable information for our customers,” said Dave Gaik, senior director of global services for NetWitness. “I’m certain that Stefano will have an immediate and positive impact as we continue providing our customers with critical IR capabilities.”

Stefano joined RSA in 2013 and has investigated and solved numerous incidents for enterprises, spanning ransomware, cyber espionage, industrial control systems attacks, and much more. Prior to his role at NetWitness and RSA, Stefano held various research and consultant positions, where he worked for worldwide organizations like Digital, HP and Accenture. He holds a degree from Sapienza Università di Roma, and various cybersecurity certifications.

“I am thrilled to transition into a managerial role in the NetWitness IR team, having been part of it since its inception. The security challenges inherent in our field continue to evolve, becoming more complex every year, requiring our team to continue working side-by-side with customers to ensure effective reactive capabilities when the customer needs them the most,” said Stefano. “What remains essential is that our customers know they can turn to NetWitness when they suspect a breach is occurring in their infrastructures.”

Dave Govan, Global Head of Sales & Services for NetWitness, said, “Our highly valued customers in Europe and the Middle East are a very high priority within our global business, and they deserve a leader like Stefano who will provide excellent in-region incident response leadership within Dave Gaik’s Global Services organization.”

NetWitness IR services include a range of offerings, including incident discovery, incident response, controlled attack and response exercises, ransomware defense cloud services, and more.
