NetWitness Product Update: Exciting Innovations in the 12.5 Release

  • by NetWitness

In our recent webinar, Arthur Fontaine, Director of Product Marketing at NetWitness, provided an exciting update on our latest product innovations, particularly focusing on the recent 12.5 release. This session highlighted the ways NetWitness is evolving to meet the needs of modern cybersecurity teams. Below are some of the key highlights from the session.

Platform Overview

Established in 1997 as a government intelligence project, NetWitness has evolved substantially while always remaining dedicated to offering unmatched threat detection, investigation, and response capabilities. The NetWitness Platform’s cornerstone is visibility, providing customers with a comprehensive view of their entire infrastructure—whether on-premises, in the cloud, or in hybrid environments. This visibility is coupled with actionable insights, ensuring users can respond to threats directly from within the platform.

Key Features of the 12.5 Release

  1. Enhanced Visibility: We’ve broadened visibility across complex infrastructures, including government organizations and large enterprises. This focus on full-spectrum visibility is complemented by deep integrations with partner technologies.
  2. Improved Usability: With a newly designed role-based interface, the 12.5 release makes it easier than ever for analysts, admins, and executives to navigate and extract value from the platform.
  3. Operational Efficiency: Recognizing the global shortage of skilled cybersecurity professionals, we’ve introduced more automation and intelligence-driven detection to reduce mean time to response (MTTR) and overall operational costs.

New Innovations in the Pipeline

In addition to the 12.5 release, NetWitness is working on several exciting innovations. Our SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) integrations with leading vendors like Netskope and Palo Alto’s Prisma are in late beta, set for a fall release. We’re also exploring the integration of Generative AI and Natural Language Processing (NLP) to simplify rule creation and threat investigations. These AI capabilities aim to streamline operations and enhance detection against emerging, AI-generated cyber threats.

Looking Ahead

As cybersecurity continues to evolve, NetWitness is committed to staying ahead of the curve. Our upcoming hardware advancements under the NWX program are set to reduce infrastructure costs while increasing scalability. Additionally, our AI-driven initiatives promise to revolutionize how organizations detect and respond to threats.
